Authorities did not disclose whether the pills were the drug Captagon, a type of amphetamine, or the country that supplied the seized pills.

Major Mohammad Al-Najidi, the official spokesman of the General Anti-Narcotics Directorate, said: the amount of drugs seized in this operation is “the largest of its kind that is attempted to be smuggled into the country in one operation.”

Walid Bukhari, Saudi ambassador to Lebanon, announced on Tuesday that Saudi authorities have seized 700 million narcotic pills from Lebanon since 2015.
