Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi pointed out that “Now the US must make the final decision to reach a nuclear agreement, and the lifting of sanctions on Tehran must be accompanied by the achievement of safeguards, and the issue of safeguards must be resolved before moving forward” in nuclear negotiations.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, he said: “Before the West asks us to stop nuclear activities, they must turn to Israel, which has weapons of mass destruction, and we are determined to strongly protect the rights of Iran and its people, and there is no point in direct negotiations.” with the United States under the nuclear agreement.

Raisi believed that “the United States needs to take steps to build confidence with the Iranian side” and asked “why is Washington imposing new sanctions during nuclear negotiations if it wants to reach an agreement”, noting that “negotiations are underway with Saudi Arabia, and we have had five rounds of dialogue and we will continue to do so, and if external forces do not interfere, the problems of the region can be solved.”

Regarding Iraq, he indicated: “We will be happy to see a strong government in Iraq and its people should not allow any more American presence,” adding: “European countries contacted us about the crisis in Iraq, and we told them that this depends on the Iraqis themselves,” stressing the need to lift the siege on Yemen to achieve a permanent ceasefire and strengthen negotiations among Yemenis.
