Tunisian President Qais Syed confirmed that he is “strives to respect the date of the legislative elections set for 17 December 2022”, noting that he “issued a decree regarding the elections and an order regarding the invitation of voters to elect members of the House of Peoples’ Representatives”.

He indicated at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Tunisia that “in the coming period, a new part will be added to the basic law regarding elections and a referendum regarding the election of members of the Council of Regions and Regions, and a text will be drawn up for the regulation of relations between the two councils.”

The official newspaper of Tunisia reported that President Qais Syed “issued a presidential decree inviting voters to elect members of the People’s Assembly.”

The order consisted of two chapters, “the first concerns the invitation of voters to elect members of the next House of Representatives on Saturday, December 17, 2022, provided that voters living abroad vote on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, December 15, 16 and 17. ”

It is noteworthy that from July 25, 2021, Qays Said approved exceptional measures, including the resignation of the government, the appointment of other persons, the dissolution of the Judicial Council and Parliament, the issuance of legislation by presidential decrees, the adoption of a new Constitution of the country in a referendum on July 25 and early parliamentary elections.
