The President of the United States, Joe Biden, had to wait a few moments in an embarrassing situation before reaching his seat at the funeral of the late Queen of Great Britain, Elizabeth II, who was buried in the middle of an ancient ritual in her last tomb.
According to the British newspaper Guardian, Biden, the most powerful person in the world and the president of the United States, did not allow him to change the funeral arrangements, which were carried out with great care and attention.
When the US President arrived at Westminster Abbey with his wife Jill, he had to wait for a few moments at the entrance as George and Victoria’s pallbearers passed by.
The Victoria Cross, along with the George Cross, is one of the highest military honors awarded in the United Kingdom, and as such its holders are given priority.
As the medal holders walked through the church for the first time, Biden, 79, and his wife, a 71-year-old university professor, continued to chat with officials.
But Biden seemed to understand the situation as he appeared smiling as he held the hand of his wife, who was dressed in black in mourning for Queen Elizabeth II.
After they were able to enter, Biden and his wife sat in the 14th row inside the church, while about 2,000 people attended, including 500 leaders among kings, presidents, princes and prime ministers.
Despite having to wait, the US president scored a bonus at the Queen’s funeral when he was allowed to drive to the church in a car approved for the presidency of the United States, which is considered very advanced. Fortification is described as a monster.
Under great pressure, the British authorities tried to ensure the arrival of major figures from different countries of the world to attend the funeral in a short period of time.
