The LGB Alliance co-founder said in court this week that lesbians “cannot be erased” by transgender advocates who say “a man who has a man” is gay “because he feels that way”.
In an ongoing legal appeal against Charity’s decision to grant charity status to the LGB Alliance last year, co-founder Kate Harris argued that biological men cannot be lesbians.
Trans children’s charity “Mermaids” took legal action against the LGB Alliance, claiming it was created to “promote transphobic activities” and should therefore be stripped of its charity status.
During a cross-examination in the General Arrangement Room on Thursday, Mermaids legal counsel Michael Gibbon KC approached Harris about whether some people have different definitions of what a lesbian is than the one used by his organization.

The lawsuit, believed to be the first of its kind, in which one charity sought to revoke its status, was adjourned Friday to November.
Bev Jackson, another co-founder of the LGB Alliance, who is also a lesbian, warned Wednesday that the use of anti-puberty drugs in children who “grow up to become gay adults” is “a big problem”. “A medical scandal is growing.”
“Anti-lesbian prejudice and fear has led many young people, particularly lesbians, to believe that they have a ‘gender identity’ issue as they struggle with their evolving lesbian-gay sexual orientation,” Jackson said.
The legal battle between the two charities began after the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) announced it would close its central Gender Identity Development Services (GIDS) for children, a controversial clinic in Tavistock, next month.
Transgender services for children were found to be “unsafe”. The whistleblowers said medical staff at the clinic identified the girls as transgender because they disliked “pink ribbons and cars” and other false claims. As a result, the number of girls diagnosed with gender dysphoria has increased by 5,000 percent over the past decade.
