The Ministry of Interior of Udmurtia, one of the autonomous republics in the center of Russia, announced that nine people, including five children, were killed and 20 others were injured in a shooting incident at school No. 88 in Izhevsk, the capital of this republic.

Earlier, the district governor reported that “among the victims” were children and a security guard was also killed.
Meanwhile, as the country sees a partial mobilization for the fight in Ukraine, a soldier in charge of a Russian army recruitment center was seriously injured when a man opened fire in central Siberia.
“Military commissar Alexander Ilyssev is in a very dangerous condition in the recovery department. Stop the shooter immediately. He will be punished,” said Igor Kubzev, the governor of the Irkutsk region, according to AFP.
He explained that the shooting took place at the military recruitment center in the industrial city of Ust-Ilimsk, located in the heart of Siberia, 600 kilometers north of Irkutsk.
The Russian Investigative Committee stated in a statement that the 25-year-old suspect is a resident of this city.
