The Syrian Ministry of Health announced that the cumulative total number of cases of cholera confirmed by rapid testing in the country has risen to 594, distributed in Aleppo 386, Deir ez-Zor 84, Hasaka 45, Raqqa 26, Latakia 21, Sweida 9, Hama 7, Homs 6, Damascus 6 and Dar’a 3 and Quneitra 1.

The total number of deaths from cholera reached 39, Aleppo 34, Hasakah 3 and Deir ez-Zor 2, according to a statement from the ministry, indicating that most of the deaths were due to delays in seeking medical care early or people suffering from cholera. from chronic diseases.

The ministry called for the need to follow public health guidelines, which include washing hands frequently with soap and drinking water from a safe source, and if it cannot be found, it can be boiled for two minutes and then stored in a clean and closed container, and fruit and vegetables are well washed, food is cooked and kept at the appropriate temperature, and not to drink or eat anything of unknown or suspicious origin, in order to be safe and seek early medical attention if an infection is suspected.
