The representative office of the Donetsk People’s Republic in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire reported that “the air defense systems of the Donetsk People’s Republic shot down an American HARM missile fired by Ukrainian troops towards Donetsk.”

Ukrainian forces continue to shell residential areas and infrastructure in the regions and cities of the Lugansk and Donetsk republics.

Last Friday, the Kremlin signed agreements on the accession of new regions to the Russian Federation following a referendum in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaraburg and Kherson, in which citizens unanimously agreed to the annexation of their lands to Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that “Russia will ensure the security of the republics of Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, and help them restore infrastructure.”

It is noteworthy that referendums on joining Russia were held from 23 to 27 September in the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. According to the results of counting 100% of the votes, in the Donetsk Republic 99.23% voted for joining Russia, in Luhansk 98.42%, in Kherson 87.05%, in Zaporozhye 93.11%.
