The demonstrations that are still taking place in Brazil, against the election of Lula da Silva to the Presidency, are a “collective catharsis”, considered this Wednesday in Lisbon the Brazilian Vice President, General Hamilton Mourão.

These people are not out on the street in a disordered way, they are in a process of, let’s say, in a collective catharsis, it is not, I can put it that way, in the sense of accepting something that they consider to be wrong. . And time is the master of reason, ”she said.

The vice president of Brazil, who has been making a four-day official visit to Portugal since Monday, was speaking to the media after a visit to the headquarters of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP).

“First of all, the demonstrations are not coup. This was something that you in the press are putting. This is a manifestation of the people in Brazil, it is an internal issue for us, who were not satisfied with the process, who consider that the process has flaws, ”he added.

????????What I consider, very clear, is that the referee of that party, the Electoral Tribunal, was biased throughout that entire party.???????? That is what I consider “, he stressed.

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won the second round of the presidential elections held on October 30 by a narrow margin, receiving 50.9% of the vote, compared to 49.1% for Jair Bolsonaro, who was seeking a new four-term term. years.

Hamilton Mourão also said, referring to the October 30 presidential election, that there is “a part of (Brazilian) society that considers that the process has problems.”

“For my part, I see that we have to give more transparency to this process. It is not enough, purely and simply, laconic responses from our Superior Electoral Court, in the sense of challenging any, let’s say, complaint or allegation about the process and that will have to evolve, ”he added.

Asked whether the demonstrations against the victory of Lula da Silva should cease, General Hamilton Mourão acknowledged that they are decreasing in intensity????????

“What I see is that they (the demonstrations) are gradually diminishing. Like all kinds of events that last over time, as the days go by they will decrease. But, obviously, it has to be very clear that there is a large part of the Brazilian population that is frustrated with this result. And we have to understand that.”

Regarding the request that the Liberal Party (PL), of the current Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, presented this Tuesday to the electoral authorities for the annulment of part of the ballot boxes used in the presidential elections of October 30, Hamilton Mourão said he did not believe in his approval????????

“In relation, let’s say, to this issue that the PL entered yesterday [terça-feira]I think it will not prosper,” he stressed.

At stake will be more than 250,000 ballot boxes (prior to 2020), close to half of the total used in the presidential elections on October 30, won and ratified by electoral authorities and international observers, by Lula da Silva.

In the same press conference, the party’s lawyer, Marcelo Bessa, indicated that in the polls prior to 2020, Lula da Silva won by 52% compared to 48% for Jair Bolsonaro.

But, according to the report, in the new polls the result was the opposite: Jair Bolsonaro won with 51% and Lula Silva registered 48.95% of the votes.

This report focuses only on the second electoral round, not including the general elections on October 2, in which the PL was the big winner, electing 99 federal deputies.
