The General Secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior (SGMAI) indicated this Friday that 10.9 million euros were approved to support beneficiaries or applicants for international protection or temporary protection from Afghanistan and Ukraine.
According to the SGMAI, the 10.9 million euros are allocated for the 24 applications approved by said entity as the authority responsible for the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (FAMI).
These funds, coming from the FAMI, are intended to support the receptionreception and integration into the Portuguese society of refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine.
The SGMAI specifies that most of the approved applications are destined for projects of local authorities, and there are still funds for the Portuguese Council for Refugees (CPR), Jesuit Refugee Service, Portuguese Association for Innovation and Development, Social Center Vera Cruz Parish, in Aveiro, Portuguese Red Cross and the Ukrainian Refugees Association UAPT
