Saudi Arabia frees American detained for criticizing crown prince

A US citizen has been released in Saudi Arabia after being arrested for criticizing the crown prince. Filho confirmed that Saad Almadi, 72, was with his family on Monday.

Saudi Arabia has released an American citizen, detained for more than a year for posts on the social network Twitter, which criticized the crown prince of the kingdomthe son announced Tuesday.

Neither Saudi Arabia nor the United States have so far confirmed the release of Saad Almadi, 72, a dual US-Saudi citizen.
