Last year, during a protest by feminist activists from Femen, the agent in question grabbed one of the women, naked from the waist up, on her chest. Now, he runs the risk of being tried for the crime of sexual abuse.
The magistrate considered that the facts “present characteristics that suggest the possible existence of a crime.”
Femen activists often take off their outerwear during their protests, but they have never been in a similar situation before. “It is the first time in the history of Femen España that an activist files a complaint against an agent for sexual abuse during detention,” argued the group’s lawyer, quoted by the Spanish newspaper El País.

“They had never been mistreated during the arrests in the multiple acts they carried out, the last one outside the Senate,” added lawyer Endika Zulueta. According to the complaint, the agent grabbed the activist from behind, “Squeezing her breasts with both hands, which was obviously not necessary for the arrest.”
