Volodymyr Zelensky pointed a finger Monday at delays in arms shipments to Ukraine which he says translate to lives lost on the battlefield. In the usual video communication from him, the Ukrainian president stressed the country’s need for weapons.
It is very important to understand this: every time we hear that the promised shipment of weapons has been delayed, every time doubts are raised about the types of weapons for Ukraine… it always means that Ukrainian soldiers are giving their lives for us to have this time. ,” he said.
Zelensky urged Ukraine’s Western partners to be “as active as possible” in sending arms and ammunition, and that, he says, this is the only way to speed up the “joint victory” of Kiev and its allies.
The Head of State also took the opportunity to talk about NATO defense and security leaders meeting at Ramstein airbase in Germany(where the alliance countries already met last February), scheduled for this Friday, recalling that Ukraine expects “solid and concrete decisions that meet the needs on the battlefield.”
