Three people were arrested in the Spanish cities of Madrid and León on suspicion of a 1.5 million euro fraud in which They posed as promoters of a solar panel project in Spain, Portugal and Italy.

The detainees posed as a company with a technological project related to solar panels that would be installed in Spain, Portugal and Italy and which they presented to a telecommunications operator.
The project they presented It involved the purchase of thousands of high-end mobile phones and SIM cards for the devices.
After several meetings between the company created to commit the fraud and the telecommunications operator, 2,200 SIM cards and 2,500 mobile phones were delivered to the suspects of the crime, according to the Spanish National Police, which revealed that the arrests now announced result of an investigation that began in the middle of last year.

According to the Spanish police, during the investigation 27 bank accounts were blocked and several vehicles were seized, a number that was not specified.
