  • The US says it has already sent 6.5 billion in aid for Israel’s “security”

The United States has already allocated $6.5 billion (€6 billion) in aid to Israel’s “security” since the Hamas attack on October 7. As the Washington Post writes, these figures were not known until now, but were discussed with the delegation led by Israeli Minister Yoav Gallant, who visited Washington at a time when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was criticizing the alleged delay in the sending American military aid.

According to the newspaper, a US official revealed the amount as a way to show the “huge, huge commitment” the United States has to Israel. Tension between both countries increased with Netanyahu’s public criticism, and the trip, adds the Washington Post, served to try to improve the atmosphere between both allies.

“We need diplomatic and political support, ammunition and more, from the North American side,” Galán asked.

  • Israeli Defense Minister says Lebanon could take Lebanon ‘back to the Stone Age’ but prefers diplomatic solution

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said during his visit to the United States that the Israeli army would be able to take Lebanon “back to the Stone Age” if it went to war with Hezbollah, Reuters quotes. Even so, and at a time when tension in northern Israel continues to rise, the leader assured that Israel is not interested in a war with Hezbollah and that he prefers a diplomatic solution.

During the same visit to Washington, Gallant had already thrown a dart at the Israeli Prime Minister: after Benjamin Netanyahu’s public criticism of the alleged delay in sending US military aid, the head of Defense went so far as to allege that conflicts within a “ family” are resolved “internally.”
