  • Unions regret that the Government and CP have not made an effort to reach a joint agreement

    The union organizations that organized the strike of CP workers that took place this Friday regretted today that the Government and the company had not made “any effort” to reach a joint agreement.

    “We regret that CP and the sector supervisory authorities have not made any effort to reach a joint union agreement,” reads a statement released today.

    On Friday, the government announced in a statement that the strike, which had been going on since June 27 and ended July 14, had been suspended, following an agreement reached with the Portuguese National Union of Railway Drivers (SMAQ).

    In addition to this strike, more than 10 union structures also organized a strike that took place on Friday and which had close to 100% participation.

    However, the Government and the PC did not negotiate with these unions again. The last meeting took place on Wednesday.
