The 66-year-old suspect had two firearms in his home and threatened to kill Kamala Harris on social media: “I’m going to poke her eyes out.” The FBI arrested Frank Lucio Carillo at his home.
The FBI has arrested a 66-year-old man named Frank Lucio Carillo, who threatened to kill the Vice President of the United States of America, Kamala Harris. Born in the state of Virginia, the suspect wrote several posts on social media in which he promised to assassinate the Democratic candidate for this presidential election, as well as President Joe Biden or FBI Director Christopher Wray.
According to an FBI memo, the 66-year-old man appeared before a judge on Monday, after being arrested last Friday. “Political discourse is a cornerstone of the American experience. We can disagree and debate. However, when these disagreements cross the line and become threats of violence, The law must come into action,” commented attorney Christopher R. Kavanaugh.
“The FBI’s mission is to protect the American people. We take into account all threats of violence and will investigate,” FBI agent Stanley Meador was quoted as saying in the note.
According to CNN International, Frank Lucio Carillo threatened “take out your eyes” from the vice president, describing other ways he would kill Kamala Harris, whom he called a “goat.” He also hoped the woman would suffer an “agonizing death.”

“Harris will regret ever trying to be president, because if that ever happens, I will personally gouge out his eyes with bolt cutters, but I will kill everyone who gets in my way first,” reads one post cited by USA Today.
When FBI agents arrived at the 66-year-old’s home to arrest him, Frank Lucio Carillo confirmed that he had written the threats online. “I think I’m going to need a lawyer” he allegedly told authorities, according to CNN.
In addition, the suspect found two firearms in his home: a revolver he purchased in 2023 and a shotgun this year.
