A baby died Thursday night off the French coast when a boat full of people trying to reach England illegally sank, French authorities said Friday.
During an operation to recover immigrants who fell overboard off Wissant, in the department of Pas-de-Calais, “Sixty-five people were recovered unharmed”.
“Following a search, a baby was found unconscious in the water and declared dead,” added the maritime authorities of the English Channel and North Sea region.
