Russian opposition, including Navalny’s widow, protested in Berlin against war

The Russian opposition, led by Navalny’s widow, protested in Berlin against the conflict. They demand the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine, the removal of Putin and his trial as a “war criminal.”

The Russian opposition to Vladimir Putin met this Sunday in Berlin in an “anti-war” march, called by Russian opponents in exile, led by Yulia Navalnayawidow of Alexei Navalny.

“The march aims to bring together all those who oppose Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine and political repression in Russia,” the organizers revealed in a statement, adding that the protest demands “immediate withdrawal” of Russian troops in Ukraine, the removal of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his trial as a “war criminal.”

To the chants of “No to war” or “Russia without Putin,” the march was led by Yulia Navalnaya, Ilya Yashin (a former Moscow municipal deputy recently released from prison) and Vladimir Kara-Murza, a Kremlin critic. who survived prison and two poisoning attempts.

Ilya Yashin and Vladimir Kara-Murza, detained after the start of the Ukrainian war, were released from prison on August 1, in a historic prisoner exchange between Russia and the West.

The organizers estimate that around two thousand people participated in this march.

The opposition, which has lost its main figure, Alexei Navalny, who died in prison in February under unclear circumstances, is deprived of the means to act in Russia and is therefore forced to relaunch the movement from abroad.
