Today, the People’s Democratic Party marked the fortieth anniversary of the martyrdom of “one of its founders, Rashid Brum, and one of the Lebanese and Palestinian sons of Sidon, who fell during the Israeli invasion of the city. in 1982. ”

On this occasion, the party convened a meeting in honor of the martyrs in the area of ​​the mass cemetery of the martyrs in Martyrs’ Square in Sidon at seven y media. The award included speeches by party general secretary Muhammad Hashisho and Palestinian fighter Salah Salah. Occupying forces, who entered the city on June 6, 1982, bombed the house of Brom’s relatives in the Sikka district as soon as he arrived to visit his family after several days of disappearance fighting the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance groups. In this context, the Scientific Committee on Water Resources and Dams of the Syndicate of Engineers and Architects in Beirut will hold tomorrow, Thursday, a symposium “Water Sector in Lebanon and Mediterranean Region”. The workshop will be streamed on the Facebook page of the Syndicate and Zoom platform and will consist of three sessions: The first session is entitled “Water Sector in Lebanon: History, Legal Framework, Policies and Current Challenges”, chaired by the former Director General of the Ministry . of Water and Electricity Bassam Jaber. The second session will be dedicated to environmental planning and will be moderated by Ghada Bilal, Associate Dean of the Graduate Institute for Regional Planning, Damascus University. As for the third session, it includes a study on groundwater resources in southern Lebanon, led by water and infrastructure experts Ali Zaidan and Abdel Rahman Abdel Rahman.
