For comparison, the price of buckwheat (Grechka) at the end of last March reached the level of 93.25 thousand rubles per ton, which means that on May 20 this product dropped by 13% to 81.32 thousand rubles per ton.
The price of raw materials on May 20, 2022 is close to its price in November.
According to market participants, from July 2021 to mid-May 2022, Russia exported approximately 71 thousand tons of buckwheat, representing a decrease of 33.6 percent compared to the previous season.
On the reasons for the decline in product exports, Deputy General Director of IKAR Irina Glazunova said that the decline in exports may be due to logistical difficulties, as well as more attractive prices for buckwheat in the domestic market.
