On Tuesday’s episode of Fox Business Network’s “Morning with Mary,” Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) expressed concern that Democrats are increasingly talking about the Build Back Better reconciliation plan.
After criticizing President Joe Biden for “destroying this economy,” Lee said throwing more money was “like pouring gasoline on a fire and waiting for it to go out.” Lee added that he was “concerned” that both Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kirsten Cinema (D-AZ) were being entertained by the pack, but said he had “substantial confidence” in both of them in the Biden administration.
“I have a lot of confidence in Joe Manchin and Kirsten Cinema and their ability to stand up to management. And that every time, one or the other, and sometimes both, leads to anxiety,” Lee advised.
“But I’m worried,” he continued. “I’m worried they’re still having fun today. I hope not, because if there’s one thing we don’t like, it’s the reconciliation package. It will hurt the economy a lot and hopefully they will continue to oppose the White House as they have in the past and they will not tolerate it as it will hurt the country. And it’s terrible for the economy.
