Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Ali Salehabadi confirmed the bank’s intention to increase the supply of foreign currency in the local foreign exchange market.
On the sidelines of a meeting with exchangers today, Sunday, Abadi explained that an agreement had been reached with exchangers to increase the supply of foreign currency in the market and simplify demand-related regulation, noting that positive developments would occur in the coming days. and increasing operations to cover real needs.
The CBE governor noted that foreign exchange earnings are in good shape in terms of cash and remittances and there is scope for a new parity in the market as this policy is put in place.
Saleh Abadi added that since the beginning of the fiscal year on March 20, 2022, foreign exchange transactions amounted to $8.1 billion received from the currency of oil exporters and other countries, compared with $4.6 billion achieved in the previous year.
He noted that $200 million to $300 million worth of remittances enter the market every day, indicating that supply exceeds demand.
