Torrential rains destroy dozens of cars in Girona, Catalonia

After the Valencian Community, it is now the Catulunha region that is being affected by the heavy rains, which caused flooding in Cadaqués, in the Girona region, early this Friday. The floods destroyed dozens of cars, according to Catalan firefighters.

So far, there is no record of victims.

This morning, some Catalan municipalities were under a yellow warning from the Spanish meteorological agency, AEMET, due to heavy rainfall. The warning has since been strengthened. Starting at 9:00 a.m. (local time, one o’clock less in Lisbon), heavy rain and strong winds are expected in the coastal area of ​​Girona, where Cadaqués is located, a city where around 30 cars were swept away by the rain.
