Iraqi Oil Minister: We intend to reach the level of production of 8 million barrels per day in 2027

Iraqi Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail confirmed that “Iraq is working to increase its capacity to increase oil capacity and we have major projects to increase production and we are committed to achieving a peak production of 8 million barrels by the end of 2027,” noting that “we currently have projects.” Achievement in all oil fields, especially in the province of Basra.

And he pointed out in a press interview that “the ministry has infrastructure projects to lay runways in the sea, and Iraq is committed to the decisions of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its work policy, because producers must provide oil to all investors.” Regarding the law on emergency subsidies, he explained that “the law does not correspond to the cost of production, and the Minnefteprotest on this issue in the Council of Ministers.”

Ismail emphasized: “We are committed to our share in OPEC, and we will fulfill this obligation within 100%”, noting that “the export ceiling for all of Iraq in June will be 3 million 800,000 per day, and in July it will be 3 million 850 thousand including Kurdistan. Because it’s part of Iraq.”
