Italian director Laura Samani’s film Small Body won the Tamuda Grand Prix at the Tetouan Mediterranean Film Festival, which closed the curtain on its twenty -seventh session, a day before Friday, in Morocco.

The film also won the Critics’ Award, named after the late critic Mustafa Al-Masnavi.
Romanian Ioana Chito won Best Actress for her role in Blue Moon, while Palestinian Ashraf Barhum won Best Actor for her role in the Syrian film The Stranger.
Palestinian director Hani Abu Assad’s Salon Huda won the Jury Prize, while Tunisian director Anis Al-Aswad’s Kadha won the first work of art award.
In the documentary film competition, the Grand Prix went to the film “In My Mother’s Corner” by Moroccan director Asmaa Al-Madir.
The prize for the first work went to the film “Summer Pilgrimage” by Moroccan Bilal Salem, and the special jury prize was awarded to the film “Kami” directed by Alice Diop from France.
The festival honored Egyptian actor Sherif Munir in a closing ceremony held at the Spanish Cinema in the heart of Tetouan.
During the week, the festival screened 20 films in two major competitions, as well as six films out of competition under the Beat the Heart program and four films from Mediterranean countries under the Free Space program.
