Turkey’s revenue from the export of Antab pistachios for the first six months of this year amounted to 111 million 456 thousand dollars.
And the Turkish Anatolia News Agency, according to data compiled by the Southeast Anatolia Exporters Union, indicated that “Pistachio exports from Antabia achieved a 30 percent increase between January and June 2022 compared to the same period last year.”
During the past 2021, the export of Antab pistachios from Turkey reached the markets of 110 countries of the world in the amount of 209 million 686 thousand dollars.
In the first half of this year, the exports of the same sector reached the markets of 91 countries in the amount of 12,258 tons.
The list of importers was headed by Germany with 17 million 43 thousand dollars, followed by Kyrgyzstan with 9 million 363 thousand dollars, and then Iraq with 6 million 828 thousand dollars.
It is noteworthy that the name of this product as “Antabian pistachio” goes back to the Turkish state of Gaziantep, which is famous for its cultivation.
