Special: Campaign Ad Slaps Kansas Democrat Laura Kelly for Commenting on the Recession

A group affiliated with the Association of Republican Governors ran an ad on Tuesday targeting the Governor of Kansas. Breitbart News said Laura Kelly (D) found out for her recent comments about a possible recession.

Get Families to Work PAC spends approximately $250,000 on satellite advertising across the state and in the Kansas City, Topeka, and Wichita media markets.

The ad, “Gov. Laura Kelly is out of touch” and then cut a scene where Kelly says, “When you hear people talking about the impending recession, call her.”

Kelly’s “let’s go” phrase, first reported on Fox News last week, is noteworthy because it deviated sharply from President Joe Biden, who further downplayed the possibility of a recession, albeit strong, in a sign that the economy is moving in that direction. . .

Kelly acknowledged the difficulty of the recession because his administration, in his own words, “managed the budget well” and therefore Kansas was “in really good shape” to deal with the sharp economic downturn.

Bring Families to Work Executive Director Dave Rexrod said what Kelly had to say about the recession shows that the Kansas Democrat doesn’t care about the livelihood of the average Kansas worker or small business owner.

“Kansas families are already battling rising inflation and posting high prices for everything from gasoline to food, but even that is not enough for Democrat Laura Kelly,” Rexrode said in a statement. “When Kelly talks about a recession, she tells Kansas workers and small businesses that their livelihoods don’t matter, she.”

The ad narrator had this to say about Kelly’s comment:

No dear? Gas prices have doubled since Joe Biden and Laura Kelly took over, inflation has increased, and you’re paying more for everything. And Laura Kelly’s withdrawal could result in things for people.

Fire

Biden and Kelly let us go. Tell Governor Kelly we’re not going to let him go into recession.

Kelly is in a very vulnerable position, running for re-election this year in a solid red that former President Donald Trump won by nearly 15 points in 2020. Both Cook’s Political Report and Sabato’s Crystal Ball pointed to a career “launch”.

Republicans nationwide are targeting the race as the winner, and they have a promising candidate for Attorney General Derek Schmidt (right), who is backed by Trump in the GOP leadership.

The Kansas gubernatorial election is scheduled for August 2.
