The price of natural gas in Europe exceeded 300 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) on Wednesday, the highest since the historical record registered in early March, at the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
At around 4:50 p.m. (Lisbon time) the price of the Dutch TTF, a benchmark for the European natural gas market, was negotiated in €300,165 per MWh, one 11% increasepressured by the announcement of a complete suspension of Russian gas supplies through Nord Stream 1 for a period of three days.
