Energy site oilprice said, according to Russia today, that Russia and Iran are moving towards a global cartel (alliance) that will include gas exporters in the form of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. OPEC, notes the Russian-Iranian alliance, will most likely control the maximum possible volume of blue fuel reserves in the world.
The website quotes a senior source working closely with the Iranian Oil Ministry: “Gas is widely regarded as the optimal product in the transition from fossil fuels to renewables, so controlling the largest amount of global gas flow will be key to controlling the energy (sector ) over the next 20 years.
Earlier, Gazprom and the National Iranian Oil Company signed a $40 billion memorandum of understanding in the gas sector, and observers see the memorandum as a starting point allowing Russia and Iran to realize their long-term plan to become key members of the cartel (OPEC Gas).
