ADNOC from the UAE has reached an agreement with Wilhelm Heuer GmbH on the terms of delivery of up to 250,000 tons of diesel fuel per month during 2023.
The agreement was reached on the sidelines of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s visit to the Gulf countries, which began on Saturday in Saudi Arabia, and then today in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) announced the signing of a new strategic partnership agreement on accelerating energy security and industrial growth aimed at accelerating the implementation of projects of common interest between the UAE and Germany.
ADNOC also entered into an agreement for the supply of liquefied natural gas to the German company RWE, according to which ADNOC will export the first batch of liquefied natural gas to Germany and deliver it at the end of 2022.
The agency stated that the consignment of gas scheduled for delivery will be used in trial operation of a floating natural gas receiving station in the German city of Brunsbuttel.
ADNOC has also allocated additional liquefied natural gas to its customers in Germany under the agreement, to be delivered in 2023.
ADNOC has also signed a number of agreements with German customers, including Styage GmbH and Orbis AG, for the export of low carbon ammonia trials.
Ammonia is a hydrogen carrier fuel that plays a key role in reducing emissions in sectors where it is difficult to reduce emissions.
It is noteworthy that at the beginning of the month, the first trial batch of low-carbon ammonia produced in Abu Dhabi arrived at the port of Hamburg.
ADNOC also made the first direct shipment of diesel fuel to Germany in September 2022.
Germany and Europe as a whole are facing a severe energy crisis after Russia cut natural gas supplies via the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline in response to Western sanctions over its war with Ukraine.
