TST workers on strike on Thursday and the 28th

The workers of Transportes Sul do Tejo (TST), which operates a road network in the district of Setúbal, a strike planned for Thursday and May 28 for a minimum salary increase of 80 euros.

Sara Gligo, leader of the Federation of Transport and Communications Unions (Fectrans), explained, in statements to the Lusa agency, that The strike was scheduled after the company applied a salary increase of 5.89% and a new food subsidy of 6.78 euros..

The increase occurred after the workers rejected in plenary session, on April 15, the value proposed by the company – a minimum of 60 euros – and an increase in the daily allowance to 7.30 euros, paid by food card.

The workers were already demanding an increase of 80 euros in their salary and a food allowance of 10 euros in cash, and announced at that time that they were willing to go on strike.

According to Sara Gligo, the union informed the carrier about the rejection approved in plenary, thus seeking to achieve a balanced value between both parties.

However, two days later, the union leader stated, the company released information according to which it would apply an increase of 5.89%, “which for some workers no longer represents 60 euros in salary,” and a food subsidy worth 6.78 euros in cash. .

On Thursday the striking workers will meet in plenary session starting at 10:30 a.m. at the facilities of the Cacilhas Volunteer Fire Department.

The Lusa agency questioned the company about the matter and the carrier stated that it had nothing to add.

TST serves the municipalities of Almada, Seixal and Sesimbra, in the district of Setúbal, and, according to the union leader, has a total of 900 workers.
