OE2025. The Confederation of Commerce and Services of Portugal asks the parties to abandon the tactic and approve the document

The Confederation of Commerce and Services of Portugal (CCP) defended this Wednesday that the parties put aside political tactics and approve the State Budget proposal for 2025 in defense of the “national interest.”

In a statement, the PCC defended that “the predictability and stability desired by the business community” requires the approval of the budget project and called on all parties, and especially those “that have guaranteed the governability of the country, to put the national interest above circumstantial political achievements,” even if they are not “fully reflected in the document.”

For the PCC, The approval of the budget is essential for economic growth as well as to meet the objectives defined in the new tripartite agreement.signed in the Social Concertation.

According to the confederation, a political crisis could lead to a situation of impasse that would penalize the economy.

Last week, the Government delivered to Parliament the State Budget proposal for 2025 (OE2025).

It is not yet guaranteed that the proposal is generally viable and the vote is scheduled for the 31st.
