“We live in a time when homosexuals are frequently shown on television,” replied Bertin. “They are trying to ban the books. They’re trying to prevent us from getting medical care. They try to control women’s bodies. They are trying to do everything they can to restrain us.”
“But each of us here, even you women, are living proof that the country loves and accepts radical women and a bunch of gay punks.”
Florida’s Educational Parental Rights Act does not mention homosexuality. The law prohibits teaching sexual orientation and gender theory to children from kindergarten through the third grade.

The law is popular with Democrats and Republicans in Florida, and a recent poll shows that major Florida Democratic voters support the bill between 52 percent and 36 percent.
Hostin then asked drag race Season 3 winner Raja Gemini (real name: Sutan Amrull) talks about how he and the other drag queens have been “role models” in “too many” movies.
“My big dream 11 years ago was to reach all those little sissies, non-binary, queer kids with crazy imagination and creativity running through their veins,” she replied.
