And on the third day, Paredes de Coura was just love

One of the good epiphanies that a festival like Vodafone Paredes de Coura gives us is the pleasure of discovering. It’s not about coming blindly, because now there are playlists for everything and everything, but about looking at a poster like the one from this Thursday, full of cohesive half lines, and reaching the end of the day and realizing that it was exactly what we wanted listen, without having anticipated it very rationally.

Something like this does not happen every day, especially since the festival, with 28 years of history, is no longer a place of passage only for the so-called emerging names. World-renowned artists are presented here, a clear privilege, but we must confess that it is days like this Thursday that manage to bring out the magic of the first kiss, of the first edition.

The alignment was so precise that we didn’t even dare to abuse the prolepsis and that’s why we started at the beginning, with Yellow Days. The lively sound of this musician from Manchester highlighted the curves of the immense hill, the busiest in the early afternoon of this edition, although it does not coincide with the busiest day of the five days of the festival. A fact that, considering the comfort, left us quite satisfied. The floods give away precious photos, the drones plan to make the cover of any social network, but they are the nightmare of those who want to taste good music without having to constantly compete for the square meter.

Closing this parenthesis, let’s go back to Yellow Days. The music he offered us was a lo-fi meander that seeped into soul and R&B, seeped into our bodies like Marvin Gaye would if he were still with us. Yellow Days is not the voice of Sexual Healing, of course, but it has the sensuality in the right place, and in this case, at the right time. Love is so sweet, he sang on “It’s Real Love” and Coura’s hearts melted.
