Among the programs that have already been announced and other exhibitions that have already opened and continue into the new year, there is a set of proposals that deserve attention. The centenary of the poet and painter Mário Cesariny is the reason for an extensive exhibition at the MAAT, which will also have the first retrospective of the artist Luísa Cunha. In Porto, in Serralves, in addition to the exhibitions that continue in 2023, such as Cindy Sherman and Rui Chafes, it is known that a retrospective exhibition of the work of Carla Filipe is planned.
At Culturgest and Gulbenkian there are also some novelties for the first semester of 2023, namely an exhibition that will highlight the collection of the Center for Modern Art, of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, which will celebrate 40 years of existence, but which is closed for works of conversion. If in Lisbon there is also uncertainty about what will happen to the current Berardo Museum, the future contemporary art museum still without a defined name, there are proposals from north to south of the country, islands included, proposals that will mark the agenda for the coming months.
