The 61-year-old comedian stood out as host of talk show Late Night with Conan O’Brienbetween 1993 and 2009, and Conan from 2010 to 2021. Previously he had been a scriptwriter for the cartoon program The Simpsons and the Saturday Night Live talk show. Since 2018 he has presented the podcast. Conan O’Brien needs a friend.
The Academy chose him “for his brilliant humor, his love of cinema and his mastery of live television,” Bill Kramer and Janet Yang said in a press release this Friday.
This is the first time that Conan O’Brien will headline an Oscar ceremony, which will be held in Los Angeles, United States of America.
