Peter Navarro appeared in court after his arrest; Plan to represent yourself

Former White House economic adviser Peter Navarro appealed the charges against him in federal court in Washington, DC on Friday after the FBI arrested him on two charges against Congress on January 6 for violating a committee.

According to Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto, Navarro spent some time in custody and in court “by doing this.” He confirmed he was arrested while boarding a domestic flight and placed in “handcuffs” and “shackles”.

He told reporters outside the courthouse that arresting officers placed him in a cell that once housed the former life venture of John Hinckley Jr., who had attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan and was recently released from prison.

Navarro told Judge Amit Mehta that he would appear. ”sincere– that is, to represent yourself and not use the services of a lawyer.

He told reporters outside the courthouse that he offered the FBI a “modus vivendi” for cooperation last week, but instead arrested them at the airport like “Stalin’s Russia or the Chinese Communist Party”. He described the treatment inflicted on him by the FBI as “terrorism” and “coercion”, as well as a form of punishment and intimidation.

Navarro also summarized his constitutional arguments against the committee’s legitimacy on January 6, during which he filed a lawsuit in federal court, arguing that it was trying to violate executive privilege and the constitutional separation of powers.

He said he believed the president could not reclaim the executive privilege claimed by his predecessor, an unresolved issue even though the Supreme Court allowed the committee to access some of the documents of former President Trump.
