“Inspectors believe this will be a significant improvement because it demonstrates that they have sufficient strength and protection before entering the classroom,” KVUE said. said.
They added: “According to the final schedule, the officers entered the classroom at 12:50. The shooter entered at 11:33.”
A special agent from the Texas Department of Public Safety arrived 20 minutes after the gunman entered the school. The Texas Tribune reported on his conversation with building officials.
The conversation began with the children asking if they had failed in the classroom:
“If they are, they need to get in,” the agent said.
Another officer replied, “Unknown at the moment.”
The representative asked, “Do you know if there are children there?” he replied. “If there are kids out there, we should go there,” he added.
The answer was, “The one in charge will decide that”.
Too much inactivity for a special agent. He mentioned that there are still children in other classes of the school who need to be evicted.
“Well, there are children here,” he said. That’s why I took the kids out.
The Tribune reported that the attack lasted 77 minutes, with officers staying outside Classes 111 and 112, deployed on either side of the corridor “for most of the 77 minutes”.
