In an interview broadcast Saturday on Fox News Live, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (right) praises the Biden administration for its “inadequate” response to the ongoing border crisis.
Abbott warned that the situation at the US-Mexico border “affects all states” due to massive smuggling of fentanyl.
“Before everything, [the American people] reluctant when their boundaries are violated; “They don’t want to see lawlessness, but many of these people who cross the border are also flying to their home states,” Abbott said. “But on top of that, and perhaps worse, fentanyl has also permeated their situation. Communities in the northern US, eastern US and western US are saturated with this very deadly fentanyl. The border crisis is affecting every state in the US.”
Abbott was asked if the country could “sustain” the current cross-border flow of migrants.
“It will be more difficult when the federal side is understaffed,” Abbott replied. “But that’s why I’m here today – to announce additional strategies for what Texas is doing to put in more barbed wire, build more fences, add more soldiers and personnel to areas where you’re seeing the massive influx of people crossing the border. There are people helping, but not in the United States.”
