The White House continues to issue an update on President Joe Biden’s health after he tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday.
The president’s doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor posted a note on Sunday saying that Biden is still recovering, despite his sore throat.
“Most likely, this is the result of activation of lymphoid tissue as the body destroys the virus, and that’s encouraging,” the note said.
The doctor noted that Biden also showed signs of runny nose, cough and body aches, and his voice was still hoarse.
O’Connor also revealed that Biden used an albuterol inhaler to treat the cough.
The White House’s COVID-19 response coordinator, Dr. Ashish Jha told reporters on Friday that Biden didn’t always use an inhaler to treat coughs, but used it when he was sick in the past.

“She doesn’t use it regularly. It’s not part of her usual medication in the context of the viral syndrome,” Jha said.
The doctor said there was a slight increase in the president’s temperature, by 99.4, but White House officials insisted there was no fever.
“There was no fever last night, just to make it clear,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Friday. “99.4 is not fire. It’s not subfebrile yet.”
The White House continues to reject media requests to interview the President’s doctor for questioning, instead issuing memos prepared to inform the public about his current situation.
O’Connor said Biden’s oxygen saturation was “good in room air,” but the White House has repeatedly refused to release figures for oxygen levels on Friday.
His doctor said he will continue treatment with Paxlovid while he continues to fight the virus.
According to White House staff, the president will continue to self-isolate for at least five days until he tests negative for the infection.
On Friday, he suffered noticeably hoarseness during a live broadcast of a meeting with the president’s staff, but told reporters he was feeling fine.

When reporters asked how she was feeling, she gave the camera a thumbs up and said, “I feel better than I can say.”
Biden is scheduled to deliver a video message to the National Organization of Land Law Enforcement Officials on Monday.
Jean-Pierre and Jha were scheduled to release another update on the president’s health Monday afternoon, despite officials saying the president was doing well.
“The President is recovering. Jean-Pierre said on Friday that he has mild symptoms of the virus and we should be happy that the President of the United States is feeling better.
