Chega/Açores warned this Monday to “worrying delays”, they are causing”big inconvenience“, in the requalification contract of Ribeira da Vinha Brava, in Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira, and requested clarifications from the Regional Government.
“The rehabilitation works of Ribeira da Vinha Brava, in Angra do Heroísmo, reveal worrying delays, causing enormous inconvenience to the people and companies that circulate there,” says Chega’s deputy in the Azorean parliament, José Pacheco, quoted in a party note on a request sent this day to the Government of the Azores (PSD/CDS-PP/PPM).
According to Chega/Açores, the Regional Government awarded the Ribeira da Vinha Brava requalification works on June 8, 2021 and the contract had “an execution period of 180 days for the contractual price of 716,012.45 euros“.
The works “have been causing a lot of inconvenience to the population for many months and, in particular, to all those who need to circulate in the Lameirinho roundabout, located next to the Casa de Saúde de São Rafael”, and that is “a point of passage, almost obligatory, for those who circulate through that areasays the party.
Therefore, Chega/Açores sent a request to the Regional Government of the Azores, requesting clarification on the work, namely the completion date of the Ribeira da Vinha Brava requalification contract, and questioning whether the work “is delayed or not “.
“Sanctions for breach of contract are foreseen and what are these sanctions”, asks the party.
CHEGA also wants to know if “there were changes in the initial project of the requalification work“, the term for the execution of the contract in its entirety and the final cost of the work.
According to José Pacheco, “it is important to know what is happening and to have a response from the Regional Government and the Regional Secretary of the Environment, for the sake of transparency and the well-being of the population of Angra do Heroísmo.”
