The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, promulgated the Government diploma that establishes the rules of execution of the General State Budgets for 2022 (OE2022), according to a note published this Tuesday on the Presidency website.
“The President of the Republic promulgated the Government diploma that establishes the rules for the execution of the State Budget for the year 2022,” reads the website of the Presidency of the Republic.
The Government approved, on July 28, in the Council of Ministers, the final version of the decree-law that establishes the rules for the implementation of OE2022.
During the “instructionsof the Council of Ministers, the Minister of the Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva, stressed that the decree-law “aims to guarantee control of budget execution, also making some rules that were in force until now more flexible.”
The previous week, also in the Council of Ministers, the Government had approved the decree-law in general.
What is at stake is the diploma that “aims to ensure adequate control of budget executionessential to comply with the provisions of the State Budget Law for 2022″.
It is recalled that OE2022 entered into force at the end of June, after the budget proposal presented by the previous government in October of last year, have been ruled by parliamentwhich led to early elections and the election of a new executive.
This situation led to the approval of a transitory budget execution regime, which will operate until the entry into force of the General State Budgets for 2022.
In 2020 and 2021, the respective budget execution decree-law (DLEO) was not published, and the Government considered that the 2019 DLEO remained in force until the approval of a new one.
