The Minister of Health made several calls to directors of the Gynecology and Obstetrics service due to the doctors’ work schedules. The Observer knows that Marta Temido was worried about the failures in the scales —which have caused the closure of several services— and that she even suggested canceling vacations to some health professionals to overcome this situation.
One of the service directors of ARS Lisboa e Vale do Tejo, who prefers anonymity, tells the Observer that the Minister of Health called him directly to ask if there was a possibility of “improving the scale” that had been disclosed. “Exalted” Y “in a panicRealizing the seriousness of the situation, Marta Temido sought a quick and effective solution from the person in charge to avoid days of chaos in those services.

The director of the service admits that the scale was with big flaws, but that has been improved over time. However, he refused to cancel the vacations for health professionals, among other things because in September the scenario is “worse”. According to the same official, the solution could “aggravate the situation” in the medium term and lead doctors to reject overtime that is essential for the balance.
