“And now I’m back out. They’re the same!” Santana leaves the TV show again (this time, angry at the 90s photography)

“And now I go out again. Goodnight. They are the same!” It was thus, in the midst of a series of protests and with his finger raised, that Pedro Santana Lopes returned, this Friday, to leave a live television program -almost recreating the famous moment in which he did the same , in 2007, while sentencing: “The country is crazy!”.

The reasons are, however, quite different. If in 2007 Santana left the SIC Notícias studio due to an interruption that had to do with José Mourinho -we will be there-, this Friday he left the CNN debate in which he participated annoyed with the exhibition of one of his most famous photographs: the image in which he appears with a red scarf on his head, during a cruise at the Kapital nightclub, during the nineties.

The image became, at the time, a symbol of the politician who would be known for his active social life —and a lot of scrutiny at the time— and for the fame of good live. But Santana did not like the insistence and, in the debate on the privacy of politicians in which he participated by videoconference with the commentators Helena Ferro Gouveia and Mafalda Anjos (director of Visão magazine) and the moderator and journalist Ana Sofia Cardoso Seeing that the image was being displayed on the screen, he became irritated.

“See? I told your editor I didn’t want to participate in the debate, because I already knew they were probably going to put up the red tape,” he protested. And then, as he prepared to remove his lapel microphone and get up from the couch in the who was seated, he himself drew a parallel with the famous moment in which he left the debate in 2007: “I have already left a debate because of a soccer ball” coach named José Mourinho. And now I am going out again. Good night . They are equal!”.

Finland. The video of the prime minister and the deputy dancing with celebrities forces a government official to react: “I have nothing to hide”

The channel ended up justifying that the photograph in question was precisely one of the reasons why it was convenient to invite Santana Lopes to the debate on the controversy with the videos of the Finnish Prime Minister, Sanna Marin, dancing at a private party, for Santana. he himself was a “victim” of the same criticism of his private life. Nothing done: Santana didn’t like it and left him.

In 2007, the level of outrage was similar. At that time, Santana Lopes was analyzing the PSD situation when he was interrupted by center Ana Lourenço: the broadcast was going to go live to Portela airport, in Lisbon, to accompany the arrival of the former Chelsea manager in Portugal.

Minutes later, when the broadcast returned to the studio, Santana was unforgiving. “Do you think this is justified? José Mourinho is much more important than any of us, without a doubt, and his arrival puts the country in delirium,” Santana joked.

And he continued protesting: “But I ask if this is how the country is going forward. I was invited to come here to discuss important matters; He came with personal sacrifice. I get here and I’m interrupted by the arrival of a soccer coach. I think the country is crazy! Sorry to say, with all due respect. I’m not going to continue with the interview, I think people have to learn. ‘It’s okay?”.

he got up and go away. At the time, the SIC also guaranteed that it had not intended to disrespect the former prime minister, and the director, Ricardo Costa, considered the reaction “unusual and unreasonable.” But then, like now, Santana didn’t like it and didn’t stay.
