The soldier who is hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of the Curry Cabral Hospital, “remains in a stable situation, but with presumed liver failure”, for which “the medical decision was made to proceed with a liver transplant, so that when they are technical. and the logistical conditions have been met,” reported the same note on Saturday.
On Thursday, the Army announced that two soldiers from the 138 Commando Course were hospitalized on Wednesday after suffering cardiorespiratory arrest, also revealing that an investigation process had been opened.
According to the Army, during the afternoon of Wednesday, a soldier who was attending this commando course “felt bad” during a “five kilometer march” in the Serra da Carregueira Commando Regiment, in the district of Lisbon.
The soldier was “assisted promptly” by two rescuers and an ambulance that accompanied this activity and sent to the Command Regiment Health Unit.
“After the evaluation, an alteration in the state of consciousness was detected, for which resuscitation maneuvers were carried out. […]The INEM transferred the soldier to the São Francisco Xavier Hospital, where he is hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit, under surveillance, sedated and ventilated, with a stable hemodynamic profile.
Later, at dinner time, another soldier felt unwell and was referred to the regimental health unit.
After being admitted to the health unit for observation, “he suffered a sudden interruption of cardiac and respiratory functions”, but was revived by the medical team on site.
However, he was finally transferred to the Amadora-Sintra Hospital, “due to the need for further evaluation”, and was “under observation” and in “stable clinical condition”.
The remaining 44 interns in the course were evaluated by a health team, the Army announced the opening of an urgent investigation process and, meanwhile, “a substantial lightening of the physical load was determined and, if necessary, not to carry it out.” some sessions.
