The Banif Association of Disadvantaged Persons (ALBOA) said on Wednesday that it was prepared to defend an agreement with the government “as soon as possible”, at the meeting it will hold at the Ministry of Finance on the 23rd.
In a statement, ALBOA highlights that this will be the first formal meeting of Banif’s Working Group for the Resolution of Aggrieved Persons, which includes representatives of the Bank of Portugal and the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), in addition to the Ministry of Finance. . and the association.
In this meeting the ALBOA will defend “an agreement with the Government as soon as possible”preferably until next December, when seven years have elapsed since the date of Banif’s resolution”.
Assuming that it attends this meeting with “high expectations”, after “seven years of waiting and desperation”, the association affirms that it cannot “afford more postponements and postponements, under penalty of resorting to international judicial bodies and other legal actions. ., but also public” such as “the majority of Banif Injured are already claiming”.
Along with the expectation of an agreement, ALBOA wants to take advantage of Friday’s meeting to define other points it considers relevant, and says it is “prepared to defend them,” the statement reads.
On Friday and last weekend, the victims of Banif held clarification sessions in Lisbon, Estarreja and Porto, after similar ones recently in the Azores and Madeira.
