Ferro Rodrigues represents Portugal at the state funeral of the former Japanese Prime Minister

Shinzo Abe was shot dead on July 8 during an election rally in Narra, western Japan.

Portugal will be represented at the state funeral of the former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, by the former President of the Assembly of the Republic, Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues.

According to a statement from the Presidency, Ferro Rodrigues accepted the invitation addressed to him by the President of the RepublicMarcelo Rebelo de Sousa, to represent the Portuguese State at the state funeral of Shinzo Abe, which will take place next Tuesday in Tokyo, and where representatives from more than 190 countries are expected to attend.
