The Liberal Initiative organizes its first parliamentary sessions on October 3 and 4, in Coimbra, under the theme of education, which will be closed by the party’s president, João Cotrim Figueiredo.
According to the program broadcast this Thursday, the conference will have a “special attention to the problems of education”under the slogan “Growing in Portugal” and will serve to “define the legislative priorities of IL for the next parliamentary year”.
The “kick off” will be given on Monday (3) by the leader of the parliamentary group, Rodrigo Saraiva, with an intervention open to the media, in a program with “internal work sessions for deputies.”
In the evening, at 8:30 p.m., there will be a dinner with “deputies, liberal leaders and other guests”, which the party has not yet specified in this program.
On the second day, The liberal parliamentary group, made up of eight deputies, will visit two educational establishments in the city of Coimbrawith statements to journalists at the end.
In the afternoon, “the deputies continue with the internal work sessions” and at the end of the day, at 6:00 p.m., the closing session will be in charge of the president of the Liberal Initiative, João Cotrim Figueiredo.
The Liberals initially planned the parliamentary sessions for September 19 and 20, but they were postponed to coincide with days of national mourning for the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
