The newspaper Público reported this Monday that the State refused to grant the blood pension to the parents of Fábio Guerra, a PSP agent, murdered in Lisbon in March 2021 at the door of the Mome nightclub.
“After turning 65, the parents of Fábio Guerra will be able to renew the request and the pension will be granted”, clarifies the note from the Ministry of Internal Administration.
According to that ministry, the State “already paid -and quickly- an indemnity of 176,250 euros as compensation” to the family of agent Fábio Guerra.
The Public Ministry (MP) accused two sailors of the death of Fábio Guerra for the crimes of qualified homicide and attack against physical integrity.
“The Public Ministry requested the trial, before a collective court, of two defendants for the practice of a crime of qualified homicide, three qualified crimes of physical integrity and a crime of simple physical integrity,” says a note published on the website of Internet of the Lisbon District Prosecutor’s Office.
The events took place in the early hours of March 19, 2022, next to the Mome nightclub, in Lisbon, and involved four agents of the Public Security Police, one of whom died as a result of the injuries sustained.
The MP points out that the accusation shows that the police, upon witnessing attacks in which the defendants were involved, tried to stop them, identifying themselves as agents of the authority, but ended up being violently attacked themselves.
The sailors are in preventive detention from the first judicial interrogation.
Agent Fábio Guerra, 26, died on March 21, at São José Hospital, in Lisbon, due to “serious brain injuries” sustained as a result of the attacks he suffered outside the nightclub.
The PSP reported, at the time, that “four policemen, off duty, were located next to the disco, who immediately intervened, as was their legal obligation”, resulting in violent attacks by one of the groups, made up of about 10 people. .
A third suspect is on the run and in March the Spanish National Police published a post on several social networks asking for the collaboration of citizens to find the fugitive.
